SLO County Band Sponsorship Opportunities

The SLO County Band is the oldest performing arts organization in the County having been formed in the 1880's. The Band continues a proud tradition by performing approximately 20 shows a year including two formal concerts, several SLO Farmers' Market shows and various patriotic and community events throughout the County. Starting in the summer of 2009 the Band is presenting a series of Old Fashioned Sunday Summer Concerts at Mitchell Park in downtown San Luis Obispo. Band members are all volunteers and currently have to personally contribute $70/year to be a member. Sponsor fees would eliminate these personal contributions and would make band membership even more appealing to potential members.

Sponsorships Currently Available:

Season Sponsor - $2,500 (One per year)

Sponsorship funds help offset ongoing band expenses:

  • Rehearsal facility rental costs
  • Equipment storage fee
  • Conductor Stipend
  • New music and instruments
  • A portion of the Band's Annual Dinner costs
  • Member recruitment and outreach efforts
  • Additional uniforms
  • Band equipment and instruments
  • Concert advertising
  • Guest artist fees

Sponsor Acknowledgement throughout 2008:

  • A listing in all band press releases, posters and flyers
  • A listing on all band collateral materials to the distributed at shows and elsewhere
  • Company logo and acknowledgement on front page of Band's website
  • Onstage thank you at all concerts and opportunity for an onstage crowd welcome from time to time
  • Mention (possible logo) in monthly ads in the three Tolosa Press newspapers
  • Display of sponsor provided banner when possible (and appropriate) at concerts

Individual Concert Sponsors $500 (Two per year)

Individual Concert Sponsorship funds offset ongoing band expenses:

  • Any concert venue expenses
  • Additional advertising for the show
  • The purchase of one new musical score to be performed at the show

Concert Sponsor Acknowledgement:

  • A listing in concert press releases, posters and flyers
  • Acknowledgement on Band's website
  • Onstage thank you, introduction at concert and opportunity for an onstage crowd welcome
  • Display of sponsor provided banner at concert

Old Fashioned Sunday Summer Concerts

  • Currently sponsored by the three Rotary Clubs of San Luis Obispo.
